IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A SIGN TO STAY,

THIS IS IT.

Micaela's Story

Micaela Brunson was a vibrant, kind-hearted teen whose compassion, humor, and small acts of generosity deeply touched everyone around her. Though her life ended tragically by suicide at sixteen, her legacy of love lives on through the 24 lives she saved as an organ donor and the countless people she inspired.

Our Mission

Our mission is to raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental health by advocating, educating, and building a supportive community. We aim to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health by sharing Micaela's story, speaking openly and honestly.

Our Initiatives

We promote mental health awareness by providing age-appropriate books for elementary students, volunteering to read in classrooms, and supporting educators. We share Micaela's story with junior high and high school students, advocate within civic organizations, and host an annual virtual walk in Muscatine on the anniversary of her passing. Additionally, we place signs with mental health and suicide prevention messages, including the 988 Crisis helpline, to raise awareness in the community.

Weekly Walks

We gather for a weekly walk on Thursdays at 6pm. Everyone is welcome! There are no fees, registration, or requirements. We just want to encourage others and remind them they are not alone. There is hope and help for you. When we gather, we hope to inspire and create positive action and change. Find this week's walking location.
